On Sunday, September 9, from noon to 3:30pm, we are conducting mandatory RMV coach training. Lunch will be served.
In addition to clarifying RMV coach responsibilities, and providing a deeper understanding of RMV objectives (the goal is not to produce the most polished, professional talks), Columbia University’s School of Social Work Dr. Andrew Hamid will lead his 2 hour Motivational Interviewing training seminar. Motivational Interviewing teaches us how to ask questions that invite engagement – not just answers. You can learn more about Dr. Hamid’s seminar here.
In planning the training with Circles of Support, we believe the exercise will add effectiveness to the RMV program and deeper meaning to the volunteer coach experience. Please sign up for the training even if you cannot commit to the next RMV volunteer schedule but may like to do so in the future.
