Night Prayer Service
Church of the Heavenly Rest invites you to a service of quiet music and contemplation, joining hearts and voices in  the centuries-old tradition of Night Prayer. Let the softness of candlelight and the beauty of singing envelop you each Sunday evening from 7:00pm-7:30pm in the Chapel of the Beloved Disciple. Night Prayer, the last office of the day for monastic communities, is the perfect way to both end the day and begin the week nourished and refreshed.
Night Prayer begins on Sunday, December 1.

Men’s Bible Study @ 3 Guys Restaurant
Sep 19 @ 7:30 am – 8:30 am

From Genesis to Revelations, reading the Bible together is a meaningful way for Heavenly Rest parishioners to deepen their faith while strengthening their ties to the church community.  Currently, there are two regularly scheduled opportunities for close Bible study: with the Men’s Breakfast Group, which meets on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 am (locations alternate between the choir room and 3Guys Restaurant on Madison Avenue; and our Friday Morning Bible Study (open to all) which meets Fridays  at 9:00 am  in the Choir Room after the Morning Prayer service.  Both groups enthusiastically welcome newcomers, so please stop by if you are interested.

To learn more about any of these groups, or to propose another forum for Bible study, please contact Rev. Heyd at mheyd@heavenlyrest.org.

Need a Prayer

PSALM 51
Open my lips, O Lord,
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from your presence
and take not your holy Spirit from me.

Give me the joy of your saving help again
and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
